Three days covering Singapore Zoo, Marina Bay, Sentosa and Gardens by the Bay
Singapore Zoo gives you a relaxed wildlife morning before Singapore Botanic Gardens and Tiong Bahru Market. Universal Studios Singapore deserves the afternoon if you enjoy rides and movie-themed attractions.
Good to Know
Estimated total per person: ₹44,200-80,400
Weather: September is hot and humid with sudden rain; expect roughly 25-32°C and plan indoor breaks.
Pack:
breathable quick-dry clothes
compact umbrella
comfortable walking shoes
SPF 30+ sunscreen
small refillable water bottle
Local tips:
Do not reserve a table with tissue packets at hawker centres; follow the local table-reservation custom if you see it.
Escalators and trains are orderly, and standing on the left helps you avoid blocking commuters.
Booking tips:
Apply for the Singapore visa several working days before departure and keep your itinerary and accommodation documents consistent.
Buy Universal Studios Singapore tickets before the day if your dates are fixed, especially on weekends.
Getting there (from India (major metros)):
flight: Singapore Airlines, IndiGo, Air India, Scoot - 4-5.5 hours nonstop from major metros - ₹18,000-35,000 per person return
For a three-day trip, compare nonstop fares from your nearest metro and avoid a long Southeast Asian connection; booking roughly 6-10 weeks ahead usually gives better value, especially outside school holidays.
EZ-Link card from Changi Airport works on MRT, LRT, and buses. SGD 12 initial cost (SGD 7 usable credit + SGD 5 card). The MRT is so reliable that taking a cab is almost never necessary.
Gardens by the Bay: Flower Dome + Cloud Forest (SGD 28, ₹1,700) are indoors and air-conditioned - mandatory. The free outdoor Supertree Grove is best at 7:45pm when the light show runs.
Hawker centers (Maxwell, Lau Pa Sat, Old Airport Road) are where locals eat - SGD 4-8 per dish, better food than tourist restaurants. Michelin-starred hawker stalls have queues but move fast.
Indian passport holders need a Singapore visa arranged in advance through an authorised visa agent - there is no visa on arrival. The government fee is INR 2,100 (effective 1 Jan 2026); authorised agents add a INR 1,000-2,500 service charge, so budget INR 3,100-4,600 total. Processing is 3 to 5 working days. Apply within 30 days of travel.
Day 1: Wildlife Before City Lights
Wrap up with dinner at Adam Food Centre, where you can enjoy a relaxed local meal after the day’s adventures. It's a fitting slice of Singapore.
Singapore Zoo (morning): We started our hike from MacRitchie Reservoir Park to the TreeTop Walk, and it was an amazing experience! The trail was long but very scenic, with shaded forest paths, sounds of nature, and occasional wildlife along the way. Reaching the suspension bridge felt so rewarding - walking 25 metres above the forest canopy gave us a stunning panoramic view of the greenery and reservoir. The bridge is sturdy and well-maintained, and the entire route is clearly marked. The forest is peaceful, with lots o
Resorts World Sentosa (): I had a great experience at Resorts World Sentosa. The place is well-organized, lively, and offers so many attractions in one area. From shopping and dining to major highlights like Universal Studios
Eat: Adam Food Centre - Choose a rice dish, prata or noodle plate and keep the evening casual after the zoo.
Evening: Wind down with dinner at Adam Food Centre.
Budget for the day: ₹8,200-13,900
Day 2: Gardens, Markets and Waterfront
This is your lighter urban day: green paths in the morning, local food at lunch and a waterfront sunset. It gives your legs a useful break before the packed final day.
Singapore Botanic Gardens (morning): Reach Singapore Botanic Gardens by MRT and a short walk, usually about 25-35 minutes from central Singapore and ₹100-200 per person. Walk beneath broad rain trees, visit the orchid areas and pause in the humid garden air before midday heat builds. Wear sandals or shoes with grip because paths can be damp after rain. Start early for quieter paths and better photographs; the garden is much more comfortable before lunch.
Tiong Bahru Market (afternoon): Take the MRT or a short taxi ride from Singapore Botanic Gardens, around 15-25 minutes and ₹150-500 depending on the mode. Browse the market stalls, then sit upstairs for a filling hawker lunch with rice, noodles or a sweet snack. The warm food court smells of soy, frying garlic and coffee. Arrive before the late lunch rush, and carry cash because some small stalls may not accept every card.
Merlion Park (evening): Travel by MRT or taxi from Tiong Bahru Market, taking about 20-30 minutes and ₹150-600. Walk along the waterfront for the familiar city view, with Marina Bay Sands Singapore across the water and cooling evening air after sunset. The best photographs come shortly after blue hour, when the buildings begin to light up. Bring a small umbrella rather than assuming the evening will stay dry; sudden showers are common.
Eat: Tiong Bahru Market - It offers an easy introduction to Singapore hawker food in one place; arrive before peak lunch queues.
Evening: Wind down with lunch at Tiong Bahru Market.
Budget for the day: ₹4,700-9,000
Day 3: Bay Views and Big Rides
Put Singapore's two strongest first-time attractions together today, but choose your emphasis: spend longer at Universal Studios Singapore for rides, or slow down at Gardens by the Bay for architecture and photographs.
Gardens by the Bay (morning): Reach Gardens by the Bay by MRT and a covered walk, roughly 20-30 minutes from central Singapore and ₹100-200 per person. Begin around the waterfront gardens, then continue toward the Supertree Grove while the paths are cooler and less crowded. The giant structures create changing shadows across the pavement, and the skyline opens up between them. If you want indoor attractions, buy Cloud Forest access separately rather than rushing through the outdoor areas.
Universal Studios Singapore (afternoon): A wonderful attraction. Excellent and friendly service. Beautiful views and fantastic landscapes. Lots of positive emotions. Tickets can be purchased on-site or online. There are lockers where you can leave your backpacks or bags. You can borrow a GoPro camera for free to capture the entire adventure. The staff also takes photos at every stage, which you can then select on your computer and purchase. After putting on a harness, you ride in a fast car to the top, and that's where the real fun beg
Marina Bay Sands Singapore (evening): Return from Universal Studios Singapore by MRT and taxi or MRT combination, usually 35-50 minutes and ₹200-700 per person. Walk through the complex for air-conditioned shopping and city views, then step outside for the illuminated bay skyline. The polished floors and cool indoor air are welcome after the park's heat. Reserve any rooftop experience separately and check timing before going, because a full Universal Studios day can leave very little spare time.
Eat: JUMBO Seafood - Riverside Point - Order a seafood-sharing meal if you want a memorable final dinner; split dishes to control the cost.
Evening: Wind down with dinner at JUMBO Seafood - Riverside Point.
Budget for the day: ₹13,300-22,500
