Booking tips:

Getting there (from India (major metros)):

Compare Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai departures before booking; Bengaluru and Chennai often produce better fares, while a Kuala Lumpur connection can reduce the return price.

Grab (ride-hailing app) is the default for getting around - works in Kuta, Seminyak, and Ubud. Taxis at the airport are metered but Grab from outside arrivals is 30-40% cheaper.

Ubud to Kuta transfer is 1.5-2 hours by car (70km). The south (Seminyak, Canggu) and the north (Ubud, Kintamani) are different trips - don't try to base in one and shuttle daily.

Hindu ceremonies happen daily and close temple areas - check what temple is active that day. Temple dress code: sarong + sash required (free to borrow at main gates).

Visa on arrival for Indian nationals: Rp 500,000 (about ₹2,600) at the airport counter, or apply as an e-visa in advance to skip the queue. Cash (IDR or USD) is safest - card machines are unreliable at smaller checkpoints. Valid 30 days, extendable once for another 30 days at the same fee.
