Top Attractions
(15)Fisherman's Bastion
Beautiful place up on the Buda side. The views are nice and it looks incredible when the lights go on at night. We did not go inside but admired the beautiful architecture from the outside. Definitely a must do when in town.
The Church of Our Lady of Buda Castle
One of the standout buildings in Budapest and a must see. Affordable entry to the castle, tickets can be bought a short walk from the main entrance. We visited when a choir was performing. You can also walk to the far side and head upstairs to get a better view of the main hall.
Hungarian Parliament Building
The Hungarian Parliament Building is one of the most stunning landmarks in Europe. Built in a Neo-Gothic style with pointed towers and intricate details, it dominates the Danube’s riverside skyline. Even if you don’t go inside (the interior visit is paid), it’s absolutely worth admiring from the outside. For the best view, head to the Buda side — the sight of the Parliament reflecting on the river is simply unforgettable.
Heroes' Square
Enormous square filled with monuments and surrounded by beautiful buildings. It’s insane to think that this was hidden and covered by the communist leaders in the 50s, that kind of cultural erasure is really one of the strangest elements of the communist and fascist movements in the 20th century. Behind the square, there is a park with an amazing old castle on a lake that you should visit if you are in the area.
St. Stephen's Basilica
St. Stephen’s Basilica (Szent István Bazilika) – A Must-See Gem in Budapest St. Stephen’s Basilica is one of Budapest’s most breathtaking landmarks — a perfect blend of history, spirituality, and stunning architecture. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by magnificent marble columns, golden domes, and intricate frescoes that truly showcase Hungary’s artistic heritage. The panoramic view from the dome is absolutely worth the climb — it offers one of the best 360° views of Budapest, espe
Buda Castle
Definitely worth visiting when in Budapest. Great views of the Pest side from the castle. It is truly spectacular at night with the lights on. There was a lot of restoration work being done so the scaffolding and equipment takes away some of the beauty of this place.
Széchenyi Chain Bridge
This wonderful bridge is definitely the most beautiful bridge of Budapest, symbol of the Hungary and an absolute must-see for any visitor. Connects Buda and Pest. From the bridge, you get perfect shots of the Buda Castle, the Hungarian Parliament, and the entire river panorama. The atmosphere after dark is magical
Shoes on the Danube Bank
The Shoes on the Danube Bank is one of the most moving and powerful memorials I’ve ever visited. It’s simple in design yet incredibly emotional, rows of iron shoes along the river remind us of the tragic fate of the Jews who were executed here during World War II. Standing in that spot, looking at the shoes with the Danube flowing beside them, you really feel the weight of history and loss. It’s a place of silence and reflection, not just a tourist stop. A must-visit in Budapest if you want to u
Vajdahunyad Castle
Vajdahunyad Castle is an amazing spot for anyone visiting Budapest. Built in the late 19th century, it sits inside City Park, a beautiful and peaceful place to walk or relax. Close to Heroes’ Square, it’s perfect for photos and to experience a bit of Hungarian history and architecture in one visit.

Budapest Zoo & Botanical Garden
We had a very nice experience visiting this place. The animals look well maintained and there are beautiful paths for walking and enjoying nature. There are also various spots to have some rest. It is close to other places of interest to combine with your visit (for example the Heroes Square or Vajdahunyad Castle).

Ferris Wheel of Budapest

Dohány Street Synagogue
We took the guided tour at this beautiful synagogue in Budapest, Hungary. The tour was really interesting and informative. The detail in the building and design is quite impressive. And the outside area and gardens are really beautiful. There is also a small museum with lots of historical artefacts and works to view. If you like experiencing history and different cultures, it’s definitely worth the visit.

Central Market Hall
It is the largest indoor market in Budapest, located at one end of the famous Váci utca. It is located in a building whose facade is built in a neo-Gothic style, very pleasing to the eye and in harmony with the architecture of the neighboring buildings. Inside, on the ground floor you will find many shops with local cold cuts, dairy, wines and other products. In the basement is the fish market. You can reach the upper level by several stairs but also by an escalator, located in close proximity o

Széchenyi Thermal Bath

Gellért Thermal Bath
Probably the most beautiful building one can imagine to bath in with an affordable price and easy access. Highly recommend to book tickets with cabin especially when traveling with your SO. I would highly recommend to bring a water proof bag to place your phone if you plan to take some photos. Slippers/flip flops and towels are a must and they are expensive to buy at the bath so pack well in advance. We truly enjoyed the pools in different temperatures and the nicely landscaped outdoor pools.
Best Restaurants
(15)Cookie Beacon Brunch
I had the cheeseburger and the Nutella cookie. Burger was perfectly cooked and was absolutely delicious. Homemade chips were moreish you could just keep eating them. The Nutella cookie was 10/10 - no notes. Perfectly crispy and sweet. Coffee was also awesome. Would 100% recommend if you’re in Budapest. Staff who served me were so nice!!!
Trattoria Pomo D'Oro
Homely brick-wall restaurant with artifacts for Italian dishes & stone-baked pizza, plus courtyard.
Mazel Tov
Atmosphere, service and dinner menu was amazing. Dessert could have been improved with such high expectations following the main course. However, service (especially Szandra) and main course was amazing. Would definitely recommend and would come back here. I would recommend making a reservation as there was a queue out the door when we came on a Tuesday evening
Goulash & Langosh Bar
Goulash & Langosh Bar is a small, casual spot that delivers hearty Hungarian flavors. The goulash is rich and filling, and the langosh—crispy, fried, and topped generously—is a must-try. Portions are generous, making it good value for a quick, satisfying meal. The staff are generally friendly, though service can slow down when it’s busy, so expect some wait times during peak hours. The space itself is compact and basic, so it’s more about the food than ambience. Cleanliness is adequate but not
Gettó Gulyás
Had such a lovely evening in Gettó Gulyás. The service was second to none and the food was excellent. The wine recommendation was perfect and suited each of our meals. The best meal I've had in Budapest so far (day 4). We got 3 out of the 4 available desserts and each one was better than the next. Absolutely delicious. Long island ice tea will blow your head off, too strong and smoky. But the hugo was 😘👌🏻. Class
Menza Étterem és Kávéház
Best meal we had in Budapest. Beautiful restaurant with plenty of seating. Service was very quick. Food was beautifully plated, generous portion, reasonable pricing and tasty. Recommend the duck leg with pumpkin risotto and garlic cream soup with langos (although langos was oily and bit too doughy ). The meat in the goulash with spaetzle was a bit dry. The honey mustard pork chop meat was also dry. Overall a lovely meal.
Twentysix Budapest Restaurant
Twentysix in Budapest completely stole our hearts. The service was warm and attentive, and the food was even better - every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is absolutely stunning, making it feel like a hidden oasis in the middle of the city. I also deeply appreciated that the staff took my allergens seriously and double-checked everything to ensure I felt safe and cared for. It’s rare to find a place that blends great service, incredible food, and thoughtful
Hard Rock Cafe
Rock ’n’ roll-themed chain with a high-energy vibe serving burgers & American classics.
VakVarjú Restaurant
The food here was so good and the service exceptional. One of the best we had in Budapest. Everything looked like it came out of a magazine and was so delicious. The steak was my favorite dish, with the desserts a close second. Ask about their merchandise, which includes shirts and a custom LEGO for their restaurant

The MAGIC Budapest
I recommend this place to all Harry Potter fans. It's a magical, atmospheric place. We visited it on a weekday without a reservation and had a table pretty quickly, but I still recommend booking in advance. The decor is very nice, the food is delicious, portions are huge and that's all for a reasonable (even cheap) price. There are wands, hats, and robes for an even more magical experience. Moaning Myrtle will greet you in the restroom😁 The only downside is that the "A Bit Drunk Professor" cockt

Paprika Vendéglő
Amazing restaurant! The perfect introduction to Hungarian cuisine. Beautiful rustic space, warm and welcoming. They helped us a lot to choose dishes and everything was delicious! Friendly and polite staff Affordable prices, much cheaper than any other place we have visited so far. Worth a visit. Reservations required. We will definitely go back

Street Food Karavan Budapest
Karaván Street Food is an essential stop in Budapest! This lively spot features numerous food trucks offering delicious street food. The place truly has a special, vibrant atmosphere, always bustling with cheerful people having a great time. We found the food to be absolutely excellent. It's the perfect mix of great eats and fantastic social energy. Highly recommended!

New York Café
A wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere, the staff, the architecture, and the presentation of the food and drinks were all exceptional. Although I’ve seen mixed reviews about wait times and service, I must say the wait was quick, and every member of the team was fantastic. I visited solo and was truly impressed. The piano player not only displayed impressive skill but also had an incredibly charismatic presence. I can’t wait to return, this time with my partner!

McDonald's
It’s beyond my expectations I thought it will pack with locals and tourists because it’s next to the train station and its locates in the city center, but it was fine and our orders were quick, less than 10 mins we had our food. Staff are super nice and friendly. This place is beautiful.

Hungarikum Bisztró
Nightlife
(15)Ruin Bars Budapest
I was there on Monday early evening — it was calm and not too crowded. The interior is truly impressive, and the bartenders were relaxed and friendly. I had a cider and spent some quiet time in the corner of one room. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and would definitely come back again.
Instant-Fogas Complex
You can’t get bored in this place!😻😻 it has so many things to see and such a great atmosphere! Though it does need more chairs in the ground floor. A bit confusing about the bars though, we asked if we could have one mojito in one of the bars that had the big board with cocktails but the guy told us we had to pese it somewhere else because he couldn’t make it, not sure why they have the board there then. Prices are alright, I feel like the water should be cheaper tho. A lot of things to see and
Beerstro14 Steak House Restaurant
Craft beer & a meat-based menu with dishes like steak, schnitzel & ribs in a roomy, trendy hangout.
Akvárium Klub Photo Booth
Drinks are always good, vibe on top and I ate there time ago and it was amazing. I am not sure if it’s still the same but I’m going to guess yes! There is a good variety of drinks and is even funnier when they have the happy hour as instead of one you get two drinks, so if you’re going with friends and want to make an even number is perfect😊
Fat Mama
Gozsdu Court
We had a blast. It is definitely less touristy than the ruin bars. Mostly locals late in to the night. Really, really late. Go to the Blue Bird Karaoke bar. It was packed and we had so much fun. High energy and friendly. Prices we not jacked up too much at the bars. Some of the restaurants were a little pricey compared to a normal place out of the tourist and very areas. Must see in Budapest if you are looking to party.
Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest
Everything was perfect. 5 star hotel no doubt. I have to emphasize sleeping in this hotel which was best ever in our lives, we slept 10 hours every night without any problems. Bed comfort is like nowhere else and energy in room is peaceful. Bravo Kempinski!
Szimpla Kert
I don’t go to bars, so I haven’t experienced Szimpla Kert at night, but visiting during the Sunday market was really nice! From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., local producers offer a wide range of fresh and artisanal products, including breads, cheeses, honey, jams, yogurts, pasta, and traditional Hungarian sweets. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and entry is free—perfect for anyone wanting to explore the local culture in an authentic way.
Retro Lángos Budapest
I honestly did not expect to find gluten-free & vegan langos in Budapest, but this restaurant made it possible even for people with food intolerancies. That is awesome. There is enough chairs to sit inside or outside, no need to book a reservation. This place is very popular, but staff are working really fast. Standard langos is prepared in 2-3 minutes, for gluten-free langos I had to wait around 10 minutes, but it was completely fine for me. The portion is quite generous, I was really full af

Papp László Budapest Sportaréna
I was there to attend Megadeth and Disturbed I was a VIP meet and greet it was very well organized venue

Ötkert
What an incredible experience! My friends and I were visiting Budapest for a stag do and Otkert was at the top of the list of venues we wanted to visit. We can now say it was a great decision and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The VIP service was truly exceptional on both nights we attended. On Friday, we enjoyed the Gold Area, and the service was top-notch. Then, on Saturday, we had pre-booked the Diamond Area right next to the DJ booth, and it was even better! A massive shoutout to Emm

for sale pub
Our waiter Andy was one of THE BEST waiters we have EVER met! I don’t eat gluten so he was extremely understanding and helpful with that. His recommendations were excellent for food and drink and we also had some of the best plum Pálinka we have ever tried! The music was fab, the vibes were amazing, the décor was SO unique and FUN! It was a great night out that we are always going to talk about!

Morrison's 2
Morrison’s 2 nightclub. It is a ruin bar in Budapest. Built in an abandoned classical building makes you feel inside a maze (each room offer a different music and atmosphere). Drinks and food are very cheap. Ideal for students and young adults.

Füge Udvar
The first place I visited during my stay in Budapest served a very delicious meal (I don’t remember the name—if you know it, let me know!). Unfortunately, I lost my earmuffs there, and when I went back they were gone, which made my first experience a bit sad. Regardless of that incident, I kept going back and even celebrated my birthday there. I love the atmosphere and the variety of activities you can enjoy while you’re there.

PONTOON
Shopping
(15)Allee Mall
Vibrant modern Mall with good mix of high fashion, sports goods, personal care stuff, cafe and bakery as well as a large comprehensive supermarket Interspar. We always love shopping there as they have everything and is close to our apartment.
Fashion Street
Fashion Street in Budapest is a lively and stylish area full of shops, cafes, and restaurants. It’s perfect for strolling, shopping, or just enjoying the vibrant city atmosphere. The mix of local and international brands makes it fun to explore, and there are plenty of spots to stop for a coffee or a snack while watching the busy street life. It’s even more beautiful at Christmas, with festive lights and decorations that make the street feel magical. Whether you’re looking for fashion, souvenirs
Corvin Plaza Shopping Mall
Corvin Plaza is a clean and modern shopping mall in the heart of Budapest. It’s not too crowded, easy to navigate, and has a nice mix of fashion stores, cafés, and services. You can find popular brands, grab a quick bite, or just relax in a cozy atmosphere. Perfect for a quick shopping trip or a casual afternoon out.
Lurdy Ház
I give it a five star . It's amongst the best shopping malls in Budapest. Although is at a far distance from the city centre, but it's worthy visiting any time any day. There are lots of stores and étteremben within the mall, clean and modern washrooms and it has a cinema centre (Mozi mozi).
Etele Plaza
Best mall. Super clean very big food court. Plants of spaces to relax. Very clean and nice washrooms. Outdoor sitting terrace
Primark
A large store with a large collection, good prices, but of medium quality and taste.
Arena Mall
The largest Mall in Budapest, there is a lot of shops, restaurants and service stores. Whoever comes here will surely find everything he desires. Parking is underground, there are many parking spaces. The first hour is free, then it is paid according to the standard price ticket.
Market Hall
MOM Park
High end like mall, great shops, clothing, perfumes, great restaurants. One of my favorite malls in Buda! Tho Telekom is a bit hard to find🤣

Central Passage

Westend
A wonderful place for shopping in Budapest! There’s everything you could wish for — countless stores of all kinds, from trendy fashion brands to charming little shops. After some shopping, you can head down to the lower floor to eat — it’s a real food paradise with dozens of stalls and cafés offering something for every taste. It’s always spotless, bright, and pleasant to walk around. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, with that special Hungarian charm @(*_*)@

Mammut
It's old-fashioned, but it's a nice, big shopping mall. You can find everything you need, from cosmetics to clothes. There are also shops offering very reasonable prices. Fast food is much cheaper than in Turkey. There is also a large supermarket on the lower floor of the small shopping mall next door.

VI. Market Hall

ZARA
They didn't hire me, I'm sad, but rate it 5 stars as I still like this place. The sho is always clean, all the workers are nice and professionally:)

Lidl
If the air conditioning unit would be working properly at the entrance of the store Lidl will not have to discard a lot of chocolate bars as they are becoming extremely soft.
